Invitation

Dear Colleague,

We would like to invite you to participate in this School that aims to summarize the developments of 2013 in high energy heavy ion physics, with particular attention to the new data emerging from the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) and the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), as well as J-PARC. We will discuss results from other high energy nuclear and particle physics facilities of the world, as well as important new results in hydrodynamics, flow and femtoscopy. One of the main aims of the School is to encourage interaction between the theoretical and experimental community.

We are looking forward to the continuation of this series and hope to welcome our colleagues and friends in Hungary soon.

Location: The school will be held at the Wigner Research Center for Physics of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. It is located on the "KFKI campus", in building no. 3. (see a map of the campus here). On Thursday, the school is held at the Lágymányos Campus of the Eötvös University, in the "Northern Building" (see a map of the campus here).

Talks: Participants are encouraged to present their recent results in (mostly 30 min) contributed talks. Please register on our website, giving us your name, institute and the talk title. If your contribution was not discussed with us before, please email us a brief abstract.

Participation fee: 90 EUR or 25000 HUF (including tax), it covers the basic organization costs, the coffee breaks and contributes to the remaining expenses of the school (one participation fee also covers the participation of 1 or 2 students). Participants are kindly asked to transfer the participation fee to the following account (noting their name(s) and mentioning "Zimányi School 2013" in a comment):

Lunches and dinners are not covered by this fee. Participants are suggested to use the Wigner Institute cafeteria (building 23 and 11 on this map). In the large cafeteria (building 11) the Zimanyi School badge gets you a 30 percent discount. On Thursday, we will be at the Eötvös University. On this day, participants may have lunch in the restaurants or cafeterias around the campus. In particular, we suggest Science Building A.

Conference dinner will be held Tuesday evening in the Normakert Restaurant, it is included in the participation fee (see a map and instructions on how to reach the restaurant here).

Students (BSc, MSc, PhD included) are particularly encouraged to attend the school (and their fee will be waived).

Registration is requested by filling in the registration form on this webpage. Additionally, you can join the events Facebook page.

Housing: We recommend staying in Hotel Mercure Buda, as there is a bus from there to Wigner. We also managed to get a group price of 51 EUR for single rooms and 61 EUR for double rooms. Please indicate during the reservation if you would like to use this opportunity. For students it may be suitable to stay at the Csilleberc Youth Hostel, a few hundred meters from the Wigner Institute (the homepage is in Hungarian, but prices are shown under "Szállás", location under "Megközelíthetőség" and "Térkép", while contacts are shown on the main page). It is also possible to stay in Ibis Budapest City Hotel, they offers a reasonable price in the range of 40-50 EUR. Please notify us during registration if you would like to use any of the above opportunities. Also note, that for the hotel reservation, we need your explicit reservation by mail at least 30 days before the conference. Participants may solve solve their housing in Budapest on their own, links to Budapest hotels are provided here.

Looking forward to a stimulating and fruitful meeting,
