Dear Colleague,
We would like to invite you to participate in
this school that aims to summarize recent developments in
high energy heavy ion physics, with particular attention to the
new data emerging from the
Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC)
accelerator.
The RHIC accelerator has been dedicated to collide intersecting
beams of heavy ions in the search for a new state of matter called
quark gluon plasma.
The focus of the school is on collaboration between
experimental and theoretical physicists who are interested in finding
QGP and perhaps other new states of hot and dense hadronic matter.
We would also like to prepare for an increased Hungarian participation in the
PHENIX
experiment of the RHIC accelerator
at the Brookhaven National Laboratory,
Long Island, USA.
Location of the school will be the Auditorium of the
Research Institute for Particle and Nuclear Physics of the Hungarian
Academy of Sciences (MTA
KFKI
RMKI),
Building III, 2nd floor,Konkoly-Thege M. u. 29-33,
Budapest XII, Hungary.
Expenses of the School
will be covered by support of OTKA, NWO and NSF grants.
Although there will be no participation fees,
the participants are expected to
solve their own housing in Budapest
as well as to cover their meals at the KFKI cafeteria.
Students are particularly encouraged to attend the school.
Registration is requested by sending an e-mail to the organizers.
Participants are encouraged
to summarize their recent results in brief contributed talks
(10 minutes, 5 transparencies).

The School is dedicated to Professor Jozsó Zimányi's
70-th birthday.
